Tesla Energy's mission is to provide a sustainable, affordable power solutions for all. They do this by designing and manufacturing solar photovoltaic (PV) as well as other green technologies like battery storage products. Tesla has also developed a software ecosystem that is compatible with its hardware products. Two prominent products from Tesla Energy are the Tesla Powerpack and Megapack.

Tesla Powerwall

Introduced in 2015, the Tesla Powerwall is solar energy storage battery that can be wired to a home PV system in order to store backup energy. If the grid was to shut down, the having backup energy from a Tesla Powerwall is a game changer. It can store up to 12.2kWh (kilowatts-hour). With the increased popularity in soalar energy and home PV systems, the Tesla Powerwall is will see and increase in demand. Unfortunately, there are no Tesla certified installers in Singapore so we will not be able to install the Powerwall in our Singapore homes yet. However, with Tesla’s products becoming more and more common across the globe, it will no surprise to see the Tesla Energy’s Powerwall come to light in Singapore soon. Keep your eyes peeled!

Tesla Megapack

Launched in 2019, the Tesla Megapack performs a similar role to the Powerwall but on a larger scale. It is designed to be store solar energy at power staton. One Megapack can store up to 3.9 megawatts-hour of electricity, which is 3900kWh.
